Chris is a breathtaking & stylish guitarist. His playing is full of grace, brilliance & humour. As well as being steeped in traditional music he has played with Diz Disley & Stéphane Grappelli & Fred Wedlock. Now he plays with Máire Ní Chathasaigh, Nollaig Casey & Arty McGlynn, & also records solo. He is the guitar tutor on the Newcastle University traditional music degree course.
The workshop will cover a combination of technical exercises, ways of playing cleanly and economically, and a look at several different musical styles.

| 11.00 | After doing a few simple, yet invaluable, technical exercises we'll look at great ways of accompanying traditional tunes using dropped D tuning. |

| 13.30 | Three note closed position chords - the absolute opposite of what we looked at in the morning session. About 20 chord shapes that will allow you to play 95% of what you'll ever need - in any key. Without a capo. |
